Cultural Museum Experience (CME)
June 5th & 6th 2019
(6:00pm - 8:00pm)
The LMS 6th Grade Social Studies Team Needs Parent Volunteers!
CME Description:
The Cultural Museum Experience (CME) is a culminating performance put on by the 6th grade on June 6th and 7th. Students display artifacts that they created in the art room with Ms. Milgram through exhibits they created with their Social Studies teachers. The exhibits are Prehistory, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The cafeteria is decorated in Indian style and the store sells Indian inspired objects. The food is prepared and brought in by the 6th graders and the proceeds. The proceeds from the store go to make additions to our CME for next year. Each student gets a job and must be trained regarding how to successfully do that job. We have two training sessions in which we request that parent volunteers attend one session in order to know how this event runs. Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions before the actual event. Students are in the process of being trained during Flextime during the school day.
The Catering department is in need of 3-4 parents to help set up the cafeteria and serve food. Volunteers can contact the teachers in charge of catering: Jen Durante jdurante@mtsd.us, Nicole Grabowski ngrabowski@mtsd.us, and Julie Brenner jbrenner@mtsd.us to set up times after school and/or from 5:30 to 8:30 on one or both nights of June 5th & 6th.
