Faculty Grant Program

The MMS PTO is delighted to offer you the opportunity to submit applications for the PTO grant program! Each year, the PTO awards a number of grants for the purpose of supporting creative and innovative teaching ideas.

 

The school year will have three grant periods with established deadlines. All remaining funds after the final deadline (February 12) will be available for grants applications with approval on a rolling basis. Grants can continue to be submitted April 30 or while funds remain (whichever occurs first).

Criteria

  • You must be a current MMS PTO member to apply. (Purchase membership for $5 here).

  • Grant application may be for classroom items, clubs, as well as training materials.

  • Grant application may be for a subscription service, but only a single year can be approved.

  • You may request any amount on your grant application.

  • You may submit more than one grant application – multiple applications, group/team submissions are encouraged!

  • Applicant may either make the purchase and request reimbursement or request the PTO purchase on their behalf. Applicants choosing to self purchase will be provided with information regarding check requests/expense reimbursement and the PTO tax-exempt form to provide to the vendor upon grant approval.

Limitations

  • The number of grants and dollar amounts awarded each year depends on available funds.

  • Grant applications may not be for for special training, salaries, registrations, food, or travel).

  • Grant applications for subscriptions will only be valid for one year and will not be renewed.

  • Grants applications cannot be repeated year to year.

  • Grant funds are limited to the specific request and cannot be used outside of the grant request.

  • Grant funds granted must be expended in the school year in which the award is given.

  • All items purchased using grant funds become the property of UMS and/or LMS.

  • If you are a Special Education Teacher or part of a Two Teacher Team and your grant will help children who receive Special Services, please visit the Montgomery Special Education PTA (MSEPTA page) and reach out to their Grant Coordinator first before completing this form.

Process

  • Use the link below to fill out the Faculty Grant Google Form – make sure you have any documents/screenshots to support the application available to upload on the form.

  • Upon form submission, PTO Membership is verified and the form is forward to building principal for approval.

  • All principal approved grants will be reviewed by the PTO Board after the grant submission deadline has passed (excluding grants submitted after February 12, which will be reviewed as they are received).

  • You will be notified of grant approval/denial following the PTO Board vote.
